About the role
The Construction Site Manager will lead refurbishment projects, overseeing an in‑house team and subcontractors to deliver safe, on‑time, and on‑budget outcomes. This role requires hands‑on supervision, strong coordination, and strict adherence to quality and HSE standards.
Key responsibilities
- Interpret construction drawings, specifications and schedules; develop detailed site plans.
- Coordinate sequencing of works, manage subcontractors and ensure smooth workflow.
- Supervise on‑site personnel, conduct daily inspections, toolbox talks and maintain site diaries.
- Enforce health, safety and environmental compliance; investigate incidents and near‑misses.
- Implement quality control procedures, perform inspections and manage snagging processes.
- Liaise with architects, engineers, quantity surveyors and clients; provide regular progress reports.
- Monitor material and equipment usage, approve timesheets and manage labour resources.
- Track on‑site expenditures, report variations and assist with interim valuations.
Required profile
- 5–10 years of construction experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or site‑agent role.
- Proven experience managing refurbishment projects and an in‑house team.
- Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, quality standards and contractual obligations.
- Ability to read and implement construction drawings and specifications.
