About the role
We are seeking a Commercial Product Lead to drive growth of Mukuru’s Wallet and Value‑Added Services (VAS) in Cape Town. You will own the commercial strategy, work cross‑functionally, and turn market insights into profitable product outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Lead customer acquisition, retention and usage growth for Wallet & VAS products.
- Act as the product ambassador, raising visibility and share‑of‑mind among customers and partners.
- Train sales and marketing teams on value‑based selling and ensure consistent product messaging.
- Strengthen distribution channels and execute strategic cross‑functional projects.
- Identify new product, service and partnership opportunities, build business cases and negotiate agreements.
- Support budgeting, pricing strategy and market performance reporting.
- Monitor market trends, regulatory changes and competitor activity, translating insights into actionable recommendations.
Required profile
- 2–3 years of experience in business development, sales or product commercialisation.
- Knowledge of payments, remittances and digital financial services.
- Understanding of B2C & C2C sales and marketing processes.
- Familiarity with commercial agreements, contracts and regulatory environments.
