Commercial Field Agronomist

About the role

PepsiCo is seeking a Commercial Field Agronomist to be based at its Isando Snacks plant. The role will deliver agronomic leadership and technical growing support to both Pioneer Oats growers and Simba potato growers, ensuring high‑quality raw material for the business.

Key responsibilities

• Provide agronomic guidance and technical support to oat and potato growers.
• Roll out revised agricultural best practices to new and existing growers to support product design.
• Capture production information, forecast volumes and integrate new proprietary varieties into the agronomy productivity agenda.
• Educate growers on latest agronomic practices that improve grain and potato quality, increase yields and reduce foreign objects.
• Inspect and recommend farmer washing, grading operations and equipment.
• Develop, implement and maintain good handling practices for potatoes from field to factory.
• Develop, implement and maintain good harvesting practices for oats from field to mill.
• Monitor crop performance using SmartAgro and drive sustainable improvements across all growers and regions.

Required profile

• Experience providing agronomic support to commercial oat and potato growers.
• Ability to educate growers on best‑practice agronomy and quality standards.
• Proficiency in capturing production data and forecasting volumes.
