About the role
PayInc, a trusted partner in South Africa’s national payments system, is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth of its payments ecosystem. You will identify, develop and co‑create strategic partnerships with banks, fintechs, payment service providers and other stakeholders to expand market reach and increase transaction volumes.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement a business strategy targeting payment service providers, technology enablers and value‑added service providers.
- Identify and qualify new market segments, opportunities for existing offerings and potential new products.
- Lead the creation of market opportunity matrices, respond to tenders and manage RFP/RFI processes.
- Drive the fintech partnership strategy, negotiate agreements and ensure delivery of agreed outcomes.
- Prepare commercial business cases, set budget targets and own volume and revenue objectives.
- Manage the sales pipeline, report progress to internal stakeholders and champion the fintech sales narrative.
- Promote innovation by identifying new solutions and communicating benefits to the business.
Required profile
- Proven experience in business development or partnership management within the payments or fintech sector.
- Strong understanding of South African payment regulations and ecosystem.
- Ability to analyse market trends, develop strategic plans and drive revenue growth.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with banks, regulators, retailers and technology partners.
