About the role
The Administrative Assistant will provide confidential administrative support to the Santam Direct team in Bellville. The role involves handling routine office tasks, preparing reports, and ensuring smooth day‑to‑day operations for the department.
Key responsibilities
- Provide confidential administrative support to a department or group of professionals.
- Prepare standard management information reports to aid decision‑making.
- Assist in developing new processes, systems or procedures.
- Conduct financial reconciliation activities and monitor departmental budgets.
- Coordinate domestic and international travel arrangements.
- Manage schedules, calendars and diaries for individuals or groups.
- Handle procurement requests and prepare meeting packs.
- Manage resources, recommend efficient utilisation and coach others on best practices.
- Anticipate obstacles and prepare alternative solutions.
Required profile
- Grade 12 qualification; tertiary diploma advantageous.
- 3–5 years of experience in an administrative role.
- Ability to compile complex documents, develop templates and consolidate reports.
- Familiarity with company procedures, policies and guidelines.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Interpersonal and supervisory abilities; experience managing clerical processes or a team.
- Advanced understanding of departmental processes, systems and related legislation.
