Telecommunications Site Acquisition Specialist - JHB OR DBN

About the role

The role is responsible for identifying, securing and managing suitable sites for telecommunications infrastructure such as cell towers and masts. It oversees the entire site acquisition process from initial feasibility studies through lease negotiation, regulatory approvals and hand‑over for construction.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and secure sites for new telecommunications infrastructure based on network requirements and coverage analysis.
• Research potential locations, assess technical specifications and conduct site visits with technical teams.
• Source properties and engage with landlords, property owners, developers and agents.
• Negotiate site leases, renewals, access agreements and related commercial terms.
• Liaise with municipalities, town planners and regulatory bodies to obtain zoning, land‑use and building approvals.
• Manage the acquisition pipeline, provide progress reports and ensure sites are acquired within timelines and budgets.
• Coordinate between property, legal, technical, construction and project teams throughout the acquisition process.
• Maintain accurate records of agreements, approvals and documentation.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent; qualifications in Property, Real Estate, Town Planning, Business Management or Law are advantageous.
• Previous experience in telecommunications site acquisition, commercial property leasing or related fields.
• Proven ability to negotiate leases and manage contracts with landlords and external stakeholders.
• Strong communication, relationship‑management and organisational abilities.
• Valid driver’s licence, own vehicle and willingness to travel between sites.
