Technology Governance Specialist

About the role

The Technology Governance Specialist ensures that the organisation’s technology operations are reliable, compliant, and aligned with strategic objectives. Acting as a bridge between technology, audit, risk, and compliance teams, this role provides independent assurance that technology services are well‑governed and deliver consistent value.

Key responsibilities

• Lead periodic assurance reviews of critical technology services, programs, and vendors.
• Evaluate adherence to IT governance frameworks such as COBIT, ISO 27001, ITIL, and NIST.
• Identify technology risks, control gaps, and operational vulnerabilities, and partner with Risk and Compliance teams to define remediation plans.
• Support implementation and continuous improvement of IT policies and control frameworks across infrastructure, applications, data, cybersecurity, and vendor management.
• Track and report control performance metrics and compliance scores.
• Prepare governance and assurance dashboards for executive and board‑level review, translating findings into actionable insights.
• Collaborate with technology leaders, risk owners, and external auditors to ensure audit readiness and promote a culture of accountability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 7 years of experience in IT Governance, Risk, Assurance, or Internal Audit.
• Strong analytical and critical‑thinking abilities with a deep understanding of technology control frameworks.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• High integrity and independence while maintaining collaborative relationships.
