Team Leader – Stroke Care Initiative (South Africa)

About the role

Join the Angels Initiative team as a Team Leader in South Africa, driving the improvement of stroke care across hospitals in the region. You will work within IQVIA’s corporate social responsibility project to increase the number of stroke‑ready hospitals and optimise treatment quality.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of six Angels Consultants (four in South Africa, two in Kenya) and oversee operations in Namibia and Botswana.
• Support hospitals and healthcare professionals with continuous training, organisational tools and therapeutic guidance.
• Coach the team to promote new diagnostic and treatment guidelines and quality monitoring programmes.
• Develop and execute country plans to expand the project to additional hospitals.
• Apply performance‑management strategies to improve therapeutic protocols in major hospitals.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver yearly operational plans and project KPIs.
• Provide line‑management, talent development and recruitment support for the team.
• Manage new project set‑ups, reporting requirements and financial reviews with the Director of International Projects.

Required profile

• Proven experience in line‑management and leading high‑performance teams.
• Background in healthcare, preferably with exposure to stroke care or hospital operations.
• Strong ability to coach, mentor and develop talent.
• Excellent collaboration skills with internal and external partners.
• Capacity to drive project planning, execution and performance monitoring.
