About the role

Alcon is seeking a Surgical Sales IOL Manager to grow and protect market share for its surgical disposable and intra‑ocular lens (IOL) portfolio in Cape Town. You will act as the primary liaison between Alcon and ophthalmologists, driving product adoption and delivering exceptional service.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and execute account plans to maintain and increase market share in the Surgical Disposable and IOL segment.
  • Engage regularly with existing accounts, building strong relationships and understanding their needs.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the ophthalmology market.
  • Implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and drive growth.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer preferences to refine tactics.
  • Provide product demonstrations, training sessions, and educational materials to healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in conferences, seminars, and industry events to promote Alcon products.
  • Collaborate with marketing, clinical applications, customer service, and technical teams to resolve territory challenges.

Required profile

  • Health sciences, optometry, or sales bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in medical or ophthalmic sales.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with ophthalmologists and key decision‑makers.
