Software Engineer Intern

About the role

This Software Engineer Internship offers hands‑on training and mentorship to develop, test, and maintain software applications while adhering to industry‑standard coding practices. The position is based in Cape Town and is designed for South African citizens seeking practical experience in both front‑end and back‑end development.

Key responsibilities

• Develop front‑end and/or back‑end features following object‑oriented principles.
• Ensure code complies with established OOP standards.
• Perform accurate effort estimations and work within estimation tolerances.
• Track and log progress in line with delivery schedules.
• Identify and raise any delivery blockers promptly.
• Participate in code reviews, debugging, and test‑driven development.

Required profile

• Based in Cape Town, South Africa.
• South African citizenship.
• Completed Matric and an accredited degree or diploma (NQF level 5‑8).
• No prior SETA‑related internship experience required.
