Software Development Engineer – EC2

About the role

Join Amazon’s Managed Fleets team to build automation that manages millions of hosts across AWS. As a Software Development Engineer you will create tools that let customers define fleet size, monitor health, and ensure efficiency at massive scale.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement software for fleet definition, monitoring, and optimization using Java, Typescript, React and Python.
• Leverage native AWS services such as EC2 and S3 to build scalable, fault‑tolerant solutions.
• Collaborate with engineers, stakeholders and managers to deliver high‑quality code and architecture.
• Participate in on‑call rotation (approximately once every six weeks) while striving to keep paging to a minimum.
• Contribute to code reviews, mentorship, and knowledge‑sharing within a diverse team.

Required profile

• Strong software design abilities and a passion for solving complex problems.
• Excellent communication skills and a desire to be a key technical contributor.
• Experience with distributed systems, API orchestration, scalability and high availability concepts.
