Social Worker – Foster Care & Child Protection

About the role

The Social Worker will deliver integrated social work services to children, families and communities within the Foster Care, Child and Family Unit and the Child Abuse Treatment and Training Services. This role focuses on empowerment, protection and development of vulnerable individuals, ensuring their well‑being and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Render social work services related to care, support, protection and development of people at risk.
• Conduct assessments and develop tailored intervention plans.
• Provide counselling, support and guidance to individuals, families and communities.
• Monitor and evaluate interventions and outcomes.
• Advocate for vulnerable individuals and communities.
• Deliver training, mentoring and coaching to stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate case records and reports.
• Participate in internal and external meetings, case conferences and supervisory sessions.
• Engage in ongoing professional development initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Work.
• Registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP).
• Valid driver's licence.
• At least one year of social work experience (advantageous).
