Social Media Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Social Media Manager to build and scale an organic social presence for a fast‑growing consumer wellness brand in South Africa. You will own the end‑to‑end social strategy, turning content into a powerful engine for engagement, education, and community growth.

Key responsibilities

• Own and execute the organic social media strategy across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and community channels such as Facebook Groups.
• Develop and manage monthly content calendars aligned with product launches, campaigns, and brand initiatives.
• Publish, schedule, and optimize content to ensure consistency, timing, and performance.
• Build and nurture an engaged online community by responding to comments, messages, and customer interactions.
• Collaborate with founders, creative teams, influencers, and UGC creators to produce compelling social content.
• Repurpose high‑performing paid content into organic formats.
• Track and analyze key metrics including engagement, follower growth, retention, and virality.
• Identify emerging trends and viral opportunities to continuously improve performance.
• Support live events, brand activations, and content capture when needed.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience managing social media for DTC, eCommerce, or consumer‑facing brands.
• Strong background in women’s wellness, health, beauty, supplements, or lifestyle industries is highly preferred.
• Deep understanding of organic content performance on TikTok, Instagram, and Meta platforms.
• Proven ability to create engaging content based on audience psychology and platform behavior.
• Experience managing online communities and driving engagement.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and collaborative skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, founder‑led, iterative environment.
