Senior Investment Associate – Johannesburg

About the role

The Senior Investment Associate will contribute to balanced, sustainable economic growth by developing early‑stage projects that increase local manufacturing capacity and reduce reliance on imports. Reporting to the Fund Manager, the role combines deal sourcing, financial analysis, and project oversight.

Key responsibilities

• Pre‑screening: source deals aligned with the fund’s mandate, conduct initial viability analyses, and engage prospective clients.
• Application: lead equity valuation, perform due‑diligence investigations, build financial models and prepare submission reports for fund approval.
• Post‑approval: support clients with compliance, oversee fund disbursements, manage project budgets, and monitor development milestones.
• Stakeholder engagement: represent the organisation in external committees, liaise with other funders and strategic partners, and present project outcomes to senior committees.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of business analysis experience in finance, corporate or project finance, credit analysis, private equity or structured finance (Chartered Accountant preferred).
• 3–5 years of project management experience within a financial or investment environment.
• Strong risk analysis, report writing and financial modelling capabilities.
