Senior Engineer – Water & Sanitation

About the role

We are seeking a seasoned Civil Engineering professional to lead water and sanitation projects for our client in the Eastern Cape. The role combines hands‑on design, project management and mentorship of junior staff, delivering critical municipal infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Lead detailed design of water supply, sewer, stormwater and flood control systems.
• Supervise technical drawings, reporting inputs and junior engineers.
• Prepare and evaluate tender and contract documents, manage tender processes and client reporting.
• Conduct hydrological investigations, flood‑line determinations and hydraulic modelling.
• Oversee construction monitoring, site inspections and contract administration.
• Ensure projects meet quality, budget and client requirements.
• Mentor and train technical staff, upholding quality standards.
• Contribute to business development, client liaison and industry networking.

Required profile

• BSc/BEng/BTech in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Professional registration with ECSA (Pr Eng / Pr Eng Tech) preferred; candidates within 12 months of registration considered.
• 7–10 years of experience in water and sanitation design and municipal infrastructure projects.
• Strong background in pump stations, reticulation, bulk pipelines, canals and stormwater systems.
• Experience in project management and construction monitoring.
