Senior Conceptual Interior Designer – Sandton (High-End Residential & Commercial)

About the role

Our client is a dynamic interior design studio in Sandton that delivers high‑end residential and commercial projects. They are looking for a senior conceptual interior designer who can lead design from brief through to development, ensuring a cohesive and sophisticated vision.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the conceptual design process from client brief to developed design.
• Create mood boards, material palettes and presentations that translate client requirements into refined interiors.
• Develop spatial plans, furniture layouts, finishes, colour schemes, lighting concepts and FF&E selections.
• Present concepts to clients and collaborate with architects, consultants and suppliers.
• Research and source bespoke furniture, finishes, fabrics and decorative elements.
• Oversee design development, review technical drawings and ensure the original creative intent is maintained.
• Mentor junior designers and manage multiple projects while maintaining high design standards.

Required profile

• Relevant interior design or interior architecture qualification.
• 7–10 years of professional interior design experience in a high‑end environment.
• Strong conceptual and creative development skills with an impressive portfolio.
• Excellent presentation, client‑facing and communication abilities.
• Ability to manage projects from brief through to implementation.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in SketchUp.
• Proficiency in Revit.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
