Senior Assistant Vice President – Account Management & Client Executive

About the role

The Senior Assistant Vice President will lead and expand client engagement for strategic accounts across South Africa and the broader African region. This senior leader will manage existing relationships, elevate the client experience, and drive portfolio growth through strategic planning and solution delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Orchestrate growth strategy for key strategic accounts, identifying new opportunities and expanding relationships across subsidiaries.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders (CXOs & business teams), acting as the primary point of contact.
• Collaborate with internal teams (operations, technology, solution architects) to deliver integrated solutions such as Data Management, AI Solutions, Digital Engineering, Analytics, and F&A Ops.
• Oversee financial metrics, including revenue, gross margin forecasting, and P&L reporting.
• Manage contracting processes, ensuring agreements are up‑to‑date and aligned with business objectives.
• Track open items, status updates, and client communications using tools like Salesforce.
• Research market trends and competitor activities to keep EXL’s offerings innovative and relevant.

Required profile

• Proven track record in account management, sales or business development, preferably within banking or financial services.
• Strong background in data and technology, including domain operations, data analytics, cloud technologies and digital transformation.
• Demonstrated success managing complex sales cycles and consistently achieving revenue targets.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills with senior executives.
• Collaborative mindset, able to work effectively with both technical and business teams.
