Security Architect

About the role

Apex Group is seeking an experienced Security Architect to join its Enterprise Security Architecture team. You will design and guide the implementation of secure technology solutions that align with the company’s roadmap, regulatory commitments, and business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Design secure architecture patterns that support Apex’s technology roadmap and business goals.
• Act as the security design authority for assigned projects, translating policies into practical controls.
• Evaluate new technologies, products, and platforms for alignment with the enterprise security strategy.
• Conduct architecture risk assessments and threat‑modelling to identify exposures.
• Collaborate with InfoSec, Cloud, infrastructure, application, and data teams to ensure secure solution design and integration.
• Document and maintain architecture artefacts, including diagrams, control mappings, and design decisions.
• Contribute to security reference architectures and reusable design templates.
• Stay current on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and technology trends.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Security Architect in a large, regulated organization.
• Strong understanding of cloud, infrastructure, and application security domains.
• Ability to translate security policies into actionable design guidance.
• Excellent analytical and risk‑assessment skills.

• Cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid/multi‑cloud governance.
• IaaS/PaaS/SaaS security controls.
• Network security architecture.
• Threat modelling techniques.
• DevSecOps practices.
• API security design.
• Security architecture frameworks and reference models.
