Retail Planning & Inventory Lead

About the role

The Retail Planning & Inventory Lead is responsible for overseeing retail and e‑commerce planning, inventory performance and stock availability across Boschendal’s retail channels. This role blends hands‑on planning with cross‑functional leadership to ensure the right products are in the right place at the right time.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage financial targets aligned with business objectives.
• Analyze and reconcile sales, stock levels and on‑order positions across departments.
• Use historical data, seasonal trends and market insights to inform planning decisions and minimise stockouts.
• Monitor operational performance through regular reporting and continuously improve planning models.
• Maintain optimal stock levels across multiple locations and departments.
• Manage stock replenishment from bulk stores and external suppliers, ensuring FIFO principles.
• Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies, variances and slow‑moving inventory.
• Track and report on KPIs such as sales, sell‑through, margin, waste and online conversion rates.
• Provide actionable insights to improve trading performance and support pricing strategies.
• Liaise with supply‑chain, bulk stores and operational teams to coordinate stock movement and supplier deliveries.
• Drive improvements in stock receiving processes, real‑time data capture and system usage.
• Support implementation and testing of inventory‑management system enhancements.
