Restaurant General Manager – High-End Hospitality

About the role

We are seeking an experienced, hands‑on General Manager to lead a fast‑paced, high‑end restaurant in Sea Point. The role combines operational oversight, team leadership, and commercial acumen to deliver an exceptional guest experience while driving profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily front‑of‑house and back‑of‑house operations, including opening and closing procedures.
• Maintain service standards, food quality, cleanliness, and presentation.
• Recruit, train, mentor, and schedule staff while managing labour costs.
• Handle guest complaints and monitor customer feedback for continuous improvement.
• Manage budgets, monitor sales, control food and labour costs, and analyse financial reports.
• Supervise inventory ordering, stock takes, and supplier relationships.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, HACCP, and all licensing requirements.
• Identify revenue‑growth opportunities, support marketing initiatives, and contribute to menu strategy.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
• Hospitality Management qualification is advantageous.
• Proven experience managing a full‑service restaurant or similar hospitality operation.
