Registered Nurse – Trauma Qualified (Johannesburg)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Trauma‑Qualified Registered Nurse to provide high‑quality care in a busy Trauma Unit in Johannesburg. You will work alongside doctors and multidisciplinary teams to deliver rapid, effective treatment for patients with traumatic and emergency conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients presenting with traumatic injuries and emergency conditions.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments, prioritize care based on clinical urgency, and monitor vital signs and response to treatment.
• Assist doctors and multidisciplinary teams during trauma and emergency procedures.
• Administer medications and treatments safely according to prescribed orders.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and clinical records.
• Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition, including participation in resuscitation and emergency response.
• Ensure adherence to hospital policies, infection prevention and control standards, and proper use/maintenance of medical equipment.
• Provide clear communication and support to patients and their families.

Required profile

• Degree in Nursing (essential).
• Degree in Trauma & Emergency Nursing (essential).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in trauma nursing (essential).
• Previous experience working in a Trauma Unit (essential).
• Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) (essential).
