Registered Nurse (Theatre) – Kimberley

About the role

The registered nurse will deliver cost‑effective, safe, high‑quality patient care in accordance with hospital standards and policies. You will be responsible for direct and indirect nursing care of patients, assessing, planning, executing and supervising care to meet patient needs in the theatre environment.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with doctors regarding patient requirements.
• Practice patient care within the scope of practice and assume total responsibility for these activities.
• Contribute to the holistic care of patients.
• Ensure handover of reports at the start and end of each shift.
• Communicate with patients about their stay and care.
• Promote patient health, well‑being and safety during their hospital stay.
• Audit health records to ensure compliance.
• Manage stock control, charging and crediting appropriately.
• Maintain good public relations with patients, relatives and visitors.

Required profile

• Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse/Midwife or equivalent NQF7 qualification.
• Theatre training.
• Relevant qualification and experience within a specialised area.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Flexibility to work varying hours/shifts.
• Ability to implement and maintain health practice standards and comply with legislation.
