Registered Nurse / Independent Clinical Technologist

About the role

National Renal Care is seeking a qualified Dialysis Practitioner to join its multidisciplinary team in Mulbarton. The role combines nursing expertise with independent clinical technologist practice to deliver safe, evidence‑based dialysis care for patients with chronic kidney disease.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality haemodialysis and/or peritoneal dialysis treatment in accordance with professional and regulatory standards.
• Operate dialysis machines and water‑treatment systems, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and allied health staff to coordinate patient care and promote shared decision‑making.
• Educate patients and families on dialysis procedures, self‑management, and lifestyle adjustments.
• Participate in clinical audits, quality‑improvement projects, and monitoring of patient outcomes.

Required profile

• Degree in Nursing or BTech in Clinical Technology.
• Registered with SANC as a Nurse/Midwife or with HPCSA as an Independent Clinical Technologist.
• 1‑2 years experience in a haemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis unit.
• Familiarity with chronic kidney disease management and patient counselling.
• Understanding of relevant health legislation and ethical standards.
