Quality Controller – Meat Plant

About the role

The Shoprite Group, Africa’s largest FMCG retailer, operates the Meat Markets brand, a fast‑moving business within its extensive network of outlets. The Quality Controller role is central to ensuring that the meat production line consistently meets the highest standards of housekeeping, food safety, hygiene and overall product quality. Reporting to the Meat Plant Quality Assurance Manager, you will play a key part in upholding the company’s commitment to affordable, high‑quality products for its millions of customers.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the assigned production line meets and exceeds all housekeeping, food safety, hygiene and quality standards.
• Monitor and supervise quality control and plant sanitation activities within the meat plant.
• Guarantee compliance with all health and safety regulations and practices.
• Report to the Meat Plant Quality Assurance Manager on quality‑related issues.
• Support the implementation of quality control policies, practices and standards.
