Property and Leasing Head

About the role

The Property and Leasing Head will lead the management of an existing retail property portfolio, source new locations, and oversee store roll‑outs across South Africa. Reporting to the Business Unit Managing Director, the role is central to ensuring new stores open on schedule and meet brand standards.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with landlords ranging from individual owners to listed property groups and negotiate lease terms.
• Review and interpret lease agreements, ensuring compliance with clauses and conditions.
• Source and secure new store sites nationwide by building a network of landlords and property specialists.
• Manage shop‑fitting teams and coordinate installation of store fittings.
• Lead project timelines, prioritize tasks, and procure supplies required for new retail outlets.

Required profile

• Business or commerce related degree or diploma.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in property and/or lease management, preferably within retail.
• Understanding of property law and basic knowledge of relevant financial and corporate legislation.
