Procurement Manager – End-to-End Stock Ownership

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Operations for Southern Africa, the Procurement Manager leads end‑to‑end purchasing for an international group whose business centres on imports. The role is responsible for ensuring product availability across multiple African markets by managing demand‑driven planning, freight, and supplier performance.

Key responsibilities

• Execute demand‑plan‑driven purchasing and MRP for a large, long‑tail SKU portfolio.
• Manage inventory metrics such as value, ITR, fill rates, first‑pick availability and obsolete stock.
• Oversee inbound ocean and air freight, customs compliance and export coordination.
• Lead a team of MRP Controllers and Import/Export staff.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Logistics or Supply Chain.
• 5+ years of supply‑chain experience, including at least 3 years of people management.
• Experience in automotive, industrial or technical distribution preferred.
• Demonstrated ownership of stock beyond purchase‑order processing and confident performance management.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and order‑book management.
• Knowledge of S&OP processes.
• Hands‑on ownership of 3,000+ SKUs.
• Strong analytical and numerical accuracy.
