Packaging Machine Technician

About the role

PepsiCo is seeking a Packaging Machine Technician to ensure the continuous and efficient operation of its packaging lines. The role focuses on maintaining equipment performance, minimizing waste, and supporting quality and safety standards within a high‑volume food and beverage environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and allocate packaging machines to meet production targets, including change‑overs of bag‑makers and Ishida equipment.
• Monitor line efficiencies, identify waste, and implement corrective actions to improve yield.
• Perform minor repairs, routine maintenance, and coordinate with engineers for larger interventions.
• Conduct quality control audits, complete related reports, and uphold food safety standards (AIB, CRP).
• Maintain a safe work environment by following safe operating practices and supporting ISO 14001 environmental compliance.
• Execute IPS system procedures, boil‑out processes, and line‑balancing activities.
• Assist in fault‑finding and problem‑solving to maximize equipment uptime.

Required profile

• Formal training equivalent to N3 Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.
• Strong numeracy and literacy, comfortable using panel‑view computer screens.
• Ability to understand and track line efficiencies and related information systems.
• Mechanical aptitude with hands‑on experience in manufacturing equipment.

Required skills

• Knowledge of control systems, including PLC programming and operation.
• Familiarity with quality control specifications and techniques.
• Experience with IPS (Integrated Production System) procedures.
• Proficiency in using panel‑view interfaces for equipment monitoring.
