Mechanical Engineer – Technical & Remote Monitoring

About the role

The company is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join its technical team in Somerset West. The role focuses on producing detailed drawings, supporting R&D, and managing remote monitoring systems for various sites.

Key responsibilities

• Create and revise detailed technical drawings and plans.
• Collaborate with the R&D, Services and Sales/Quotes departments.
• Monitor remote sites daily and assemble new monitoring equipment.
• Add and update sites in the remote monitoring platform.
• Interpret data from monitoring, adjust site parameters, and handle alarm programming.
• Liaise with technicians and clients, providing technical support.
• Conduct site visits to verify measurements and support CAD work.

Required profile

• National Diploma, Advanced Diploma or BTech in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
• 1‑2 years experience in a technical or manufacturing environment.
• Experience with store designs and remote monitoring systems.
• Valid driver’s licence and own transport.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Ability to use CAD software (advantageous).
