Logistics Specialist

About the role

PepsiCo South Africa is seeking a Logistics Specialist to support the supply chain by managing route changes, cancellations, and cost‑effective freight solutions. The role focuses on both road and sea logistics, ensuring continuity of supply and optimizing transportation costs.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and implement alternative, cost‑effective supply routes for road and sea freight.
• Maintain and update a logistics matrix with cost models for route comparison.
• Support the Operational Team in solving supply challenges as they arise.
• Analyze existing routes to ensure optimal efficiency and cost savings.
• Provide monthly reporting, analytics, and forward‑view vessel tracking.
• Input DSV Control Tower data and manage pier load builds.
• Coordinate RFQ processes with local and global procurement, measuring success rates and spot rates.
• Support cross‑trade initiatives, including co‑loading and bonded‑warehouse logistics.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate and optimise logistics routes.
• Experience in handling road and sea freight operations.
• Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to supply disruptions.
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration with operational and procurement teams.
