Junior EC&I Draughtsman / Modeller – Graduate Development Opportunity

About the role

Our client, a multidisciplinary engineering company, is seeking a recently qualified Junior EC&I Draughtsman / Modeller to develop a long‑term career in electrical, control and instrumentation design. The role offers mentorship, practical project exposure and the chance to work on engineering projects in South Africa and internationally.

Key responsibilities

• Translate engineering concepts and technical information into accurate EC&I drawings and 3‑D models.
• Create and maintain P&IDs, single‑line diagrams, wiring and schematic drawings.
• Develop electrical layouts for small power, lighting and cableways.
• Produce instrument loop, hook‑up, and equipment arrangement drawings.
• Maintain drawing registers, revisions and engineering documentation.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering efforts and perform site measurements, inspections and drawing verification.

Required profile

• Recently completed EC&I, Electrical or Instrumentation draughting qualification (or equivalent recognised CAD qualification).
• Basic understanding of engineering drawings, electrical layouts and instrumentation drawings.
• Strong attention to detail, logical and technically‑minded approach.
• Willingness to learn, take guidance and develop technical skills.
• Good communication skills and ability to work within a multidisciplinary engineering team.

Required skills

• AutoCAD (training or exposure highly desirable).
• Revit (exposure advantageous).
• DesSoft (exposure advantageous).
• IronCAD (exposure advantageous).
• Autodesk Inventor (exposure advantageous).
