IT Specialist – Infrastructure & Cybersecurity

About the role

We are seeking an IT Specialist to manage and support the company’s IT infrastructure, networks, systems and cybersecurity within a manufacturing environment in Port Elizabeth. The role ensures system reliability, user support, compliance and continuous improvement across business and production operations.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain desktops, laptops, industrial PCs, printers, scanners, handheld devices and shop‑floor terminals; manage hardware lifecycle and procurement.
• Administer Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Microsoft 365 and cloud collaboration platforms; ensure availability of ERP and manufacturing systems, apply updates and monitor performance.
• Maintain LAN/WAN, Wi‑Fi and VPN connectivity across sites; configure switches, routers, firewalls and other network security devices.
• Implement cybersecurity standards aligned with automotive requirements (TISAX, ISO 27001), POPIA, endpoint protection and vulnerability monitoring; coordinate internal and customer IT audits.
• Provide IT support to production lines, barcode systems, label printers and traceability solutions; assist with automation, digitalisation and new equipment integration.
• Deliver first‑ and second‑line user support, manage onboarding/off‑boarding, operate the helpdesk and conduct cybersecurity awareness training.
• Maintain IT policies, procedures and infrastructure documentation (IMS) and support audit activities.

Required profile

• Proven ability to ensure system reliability and support users in an industrial setting.
• Experience with automotive‑industry compliance standards such as TISAX and ISO 27001.
• Knowledge of POPIA regulations and supply‑chain security requirements.
