IT Infrastructure Engineer – Zero Trust Workstreams (Contract)

About the role

Our client is seeking an expert Infrastructure & Automation Engineer to join a global IT hub and drive a strategic Zero Trust Initiative. The role focuses on designing, building and operating runtime automation and workflow orchestration across complex AWS cloud ecosystems.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and operate runtime automation integrating Zero Trust interfaces, APIs and enterprise data sources.
• Deploy and manage event‑driven orchestration solutions using Temporal, Camunda or AWS Step Functions.
• Implement Terraform and Ansible automation for cloud provisioning and develop reusable Python and Bash libraries.
• Author and maintain SOAR remediation playbooks and self‑healing automation runbooks.
• Own automation alerting, participate in on‑call rotations and meet SLA targets for availability, MTTR and latency.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 + years of hands‑on experience in Automation Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering or Platform Engineering.
• Proven track record delivering production‑grade automation using Python/Bash, CI/CD pipelines and IaC tools.

Required skills

• Python programming and advanced Bash/Linux scripting.
• Workflow orchestration engines: Temporal, Camunda, AWS Step Functions.
• Infrastructure as Code: Terraform; configuration management: Ansible.
• CI/CD tools: GitHub Actions, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline.
• Cloud platforms: AWS (including Secrets Manager, SNS/SQS/EventBridge).
• Message brokers: Kafka, RabbitMQ.
• Container & orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes, EKS; GitOps tools: ArgoCD, Flux, OPA.
