Innovation Consultant – Digital & ICT

About the role

The Innovation Consultant (Digital – ICT) will lead digital transformation and advanced analytics initiatives at Rand Water. This role focuses on applying digital technologies, big‑data analytics and Generative AI to generate actionable insights, improve decision‑making and support innovation across the potable water production and distribution value chain.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, design and implement digital solutions that enhance operational efficiency and water quality monitoring.
• Develop and manage advanced data‑analytics projects, including big‑data processing and AI‑driven modelling.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to embed innovative technologies into existing water‑management processes.
• Provide data‑driven recommendations to senior leadership for strategic planning.
• Maintain and evolve information‑system architectures to support emerging digital initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with a passion for leveraging technology to solve complex water‑sector challenges.
• Experience in managing digital or analytics projects in an industrial or utility environment.
• Excellent communication skills to translate technical concepts for non‑technical stakeholders.
