Industrial CAD Technician – Corporate Projects (Cape Town)

About the role

Our client is an established and growing company based in Cape Town, specialising in the design and supply of corporate office environments, furniture and related workplace solutions. They are looking for an experienced and technically minded Industrial CAD Technician to join their team.

Key responsibilities

• Create, develop and modify detailed technical drawings using CAD software, based on customer requirements and product specifications.
• Maintain drawing registers, revisions and technical records, ensuring compliance with company standards.
• Provide technical assistance to sales, design and manufacturing teams, interpreting customer requirements and project documentation.
• Support manufacturing by generating CNC programmes, identifying design issues and improving production efficiency.
• Prepare and manage production packs, Bills of Materials and document control for accurate production documentation.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in CAD, Mechanical Design, Engineering Drafting or a related field.
• Previous experience as a CAD Technician or Draughtsman, preferably in manufacturing, furniture or office fit‑out environments.
• Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving abilities and ability to collaborate across sales, design and production teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software.
• Experience with CNC programming and manufacturing.
• Ability to create and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) and production documentation.
• Knowledge of drawing standards, revisions and document control.
