Head of Finance

About the role

The Head of Finance will lead the financial performance of the Schb Africa Group at a Group level. Reporting directly to executive management, this senior role ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance, and strategic treasury management.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation, analysis and reporting of monthly, quarterly and annual financial results for the Group.
• Develop and maintain currency‑hedging strategies and manage forward‑cover risk in line with policy.
• Monitor treasury activities, cash‑flow forecasts and identify future trends.
• Identify cost‑reduction opportunities and drive efficiency across all entities.
• Lead the annual budgeting process and supervise internal and external audits.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, local Companies Acts, tax regulations (VAT, WHT, corporate tax) and manage transfer‑pricing policies.
• Supervise, mentor and develop the finance team, fostering strong internal controls.
• Maintain relationships with auditors, insurers and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Member of SAICA, Chartered Accountant, CIMA, ACA or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in a senior finance management role.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, tax legislation and group treasury practices.

Required skills

• Advanced MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Proficiency with Syspro ERP system.
