Financial Planner – Pietermaritzburg & Surrounding Areas

About the role

The Financial Planner will provide professional financial advice, planning and product solutions to new and existing clients across Pietermaritzburg, New Castle, Ladysmith and surrounding areas. The role focuses on building long‑term relationships, generating sustainable business and delivering compliant, ethical service.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver tailored financial advice, planning and product sales that meet client needs while adhering to compliance and Treating Customers Fairly principles.
• Generate and grow a high‑quality client portfolio through networking, prospecting, lead generation and referral activities.
• Maintain ongoing client relationships, conduct annual portfolio reviews and respond to client events such as maturities or cancellations.
• Document client interactions, track activity metrics and report on revenue, contacts and appointments on a weekly/monthly basis.

Required profile

• Minimum Grade 12 qualification.
• Successful completion of the FAIS “Fit and Proper” regulatory examination and registration with the Financial Sector Conduct Authority for at least 24 months.
• Demonstrated ability in financial advice, target achievement, compliance, risk management and client relationship management.
• Strong communication, tech‑savvy, action‑oriented and persuasive personal attributes.
