Financial Controller – Johannesburg

About the role

The Financial Controller will lead the finance function for a fast‑moving manufacturing/FMCG operation in City Deep, Johannesburg. Reporting to senior management, you will ensure accurate financial reporting, budgeting and cost control while supporting strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts and cost‑accounting models.
• Maintain and optimise SAP financial modules.
• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and internal controls.
• Provide financial insights to support operational improvements.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) and a Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Finance, Accounting or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in finance and administration, preferably in manufacturing or FMCG.
• Professional accounting qualification or studies towards CA(SA), CIMA, ACCA, ACA, SAICA is advantageous.
• Strong analytical, numerical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SAP.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with financial/accounting systems.
