Finance Controller – South Africa

About the role

The Finance Controller will own end‑to‑end accounting and finance functions for the South African entity, supporting the Business Head, Head of Finance and commercial teams with analysis, reporting and strategic insight.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements, segmental P&L, cash flow and balance sheets in line with local GAAP and IFRS.
• Develop forecasts, budgets and long‑range plans (3‑5 years) and produce management reports.
• Manage cash, receivables, collections and liaison with customers, distributors, 3PL and contract manufacturers.
• Oversee stock and sales movement reporting, distributor agreement review and claim validation.
• Lead a small finance team, ensuring statutory and internal audit compliance.
• Handle tax, VAT, transfer pricing and coordinate with local consultants and corporate tax teams.
• Implement and maintain accounting software and Business Intelligence tools.
• Coordinate with banks, legal advisors and ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• CPA, CA or equivalent qualification; part‑qualified candidates considered with extensive experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in financial accounting, FP&A, business support and local taxation, preferably in the pharma sector.
• Proven experience managing finance functions and small teams.
• Experience with ERP or accounting system implementations is an advantage.
