Film & Video Specialist

About the role

Liberty is seeking a seasoned Specialist in Film & Video to join their dynamic team in Johannesburg. The role is central to transforming business objectives into compelling visual narratives for a diverse clientele, ranging from individual customers to multinational corporations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop innovative concepts for film and video projects that align with strategic business goals.
• Manage the full production cycle – scripting, storyboarding, filming (studio and on‑location), directing talent, and overseeing post‑production activities such as editing, colour grading, audio enhancement and motion‑graphics integration.
• Ensure final content is delivered across multiple channels, meeting platform‑specific requirements.
• Oversee the operational aspects of the production facility, including equipment management, scheduling and adherence to studio standards.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, external vendors and logistics teams to guarantee smooth project execution.
• Lead and mentor junior team members, fostering creativity and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• First‑degree qualification in Design Studies or a related field.
• Minimum seven years of experience creating and delivering cross‑platform multimedia content.
• Proven track record of leading comprehensive multimedia strategies and complex projects.
• Strong project‑management capabilities, handling timelines, budgets and multiple concurrent shoots.
• Experience shaping stakeholder direction and presenting creative concepts persuasively.
• Leadership experience, including team management and mentoring of junior talent.
• Innovative, out‑of‑the‑box thinking with a focus on high‑impact creative work.
