About the role
Farm Manager SA is seeking a qualified Farm Mechanic (reference FM2622) for a live‑out position in the Port Elizabeth area. The role involves maintaining and repairing a range of agricultural and light‑vehicle equipment to keep farm operations running smoothly.
Key responsibilities
- Diagnose, service and repair diesel‑powered tractors, TLBs, bakkies and other plant machinery.
- Manage the workshop, ensuring tools, parts and schedules are organized efficiently.
- Lead and motivate a small team of mechanics and apprentices.
- Maintain accurate service records and report on equipment status.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Required profile
- Qualified diesel mechanic or equivalent trade certification (trade test certificates advantageous).
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar agricultural/mechanical role.
- Proven workshop management experience.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Valid driver’s licence.
Required skills
- Diesel engine repair.
- Tractor maintenance.
- TLB (tractor‑loader‑backhoe) repair.
- Bakkie (light truck) repair.
- Plant machinery maintenance.
