Experienced Production Operator (Forklift Driver)

About the position

Join a global leader in the gases and welding products industry. As a Production Operator, you will play a vital role in our operational excellence, ensuring the safe handling, inspection, and efficient movement of gas cylinders within our facility.

Main Missions

• Inspect and sort empty cylinders prior to filling to ensure quality and safety standards.
• Operate forklifts to facilitate production operations, including loading and unloading pallets and vehicles.
• Perform and document daily forklift inspections using the appropriate checklists to ensure equipment reliability.
• Maintain yard cleanliness and organization to support seamless production workflows.
• Contribute to achieving DIFOT (Delivery In Full, On Time) objectives and support inventory teams during stock counts.
• Strictly adhere to all safety initiatives and legal compliance requirements.

Profile sought

• Proven experience of 3 to 5 years in a similar industrial production or warehouse role.
• Educational background: Matric (High School Diploma) and/or N2 qualification.
• Demonstrated ability to identify various types of gases contained in cylinders.
• Strong commitment to safety, integrity, and ethical work practices.

Required Skills & Certifications

• Valid Driver's License (Code B).
• Valid Forklift Operator License.
• Certified Cylinder Handling qualification.
• Proficiency in forklift operation and heavy lifting.
• Inventory support and stock counting capabilities.
