Experienced Blaster – Mining Operations

About the role

We are seeking three experienced Blasters to join a leading mining operation in the Rustenburg area. The role focuses on planning and executing detonations that meet client expectations while maintaining the highest safety and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and schedule all blasting activities in line with company and client requirements.
• Supervise MMU operators, team leaders and blasting assistants, allocating work and ensuring compliance with SOPs.
• Operate technical blasting tools such as seismographs and blast‑video analysis systems.
• Interpret blast designs, manage blast costs and ensure accurate documentation of blast reports.
• Control stemming processes, timing design, accessory connections and verify safe blast radii before detonation.
• Conduct post‑blast evaluations and report any deviations to the Blasting Foreman.
• Maintain site housekeeping and oversee safety guards around the blast perimeter.

Required profile

• Qualified and experienced in mining blasting operations.
• South African citizenship or residence in the Rustenburg area preferred.
• Proven ability to supervise a blasting team and manage complex blast schedules.
• Strong understanding of legal, SHEQ and standard operating procedures.

Required skills

• Proficiency with seismograph equipment.
• Experience using blast video analysis tools.
