Energy and Infrastructure Senior Project Manager

About the role

Arup is seeking a Senior Project Manager with expertise in energy and infrastructure to lead complex, multi‑sector projects across the built environment. Based in Johannesburg or Cape Town, you will manage the full project lifecycle from stakeholder engagement to design, construction and quality assurance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement detailed project execution plans to ensure successful delivery.
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to integrate technical activities and meet project objectives.
• Ensure compliance with design standards, legal regulations, environmental requirements and permits.
• Identify and mitigate project risks while maintaining strong relationships with governments, communities, suppliers and contractors.
• Drive quality control measures to meet performance targets and deliver outstanding client service.
• Oversee project progress and report to senior management and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration; a master’s degree is advantageous.
• Relevant certifications such as Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or SACPCMP.
• Experience in renewable energy projects (wind, solar and other sustainable power).
