DevOps Engineer – Salesforce & Cloud Automation

About the role

Our client in Bryanston is seeking a DevOps Engineer with a strong background in Salesforce administration and cloud automation. You will work closely with development and operations teams to streamline releases, improve reliability, and accelerate delivery of high‑quality software.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Salesforce and cloud environments.
• Automate deployment processes using tools such as Gearset, SFDX, Jenkins, and Azure DevOps.
• Collaborate with developers to ensure code quality, test coverage, and version control best practices.
• Manage infrastructure as code with Ansible, Chef or Puppet and container platforms like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Monitor performance, security and cost of AWS, Azure and GCP resources.

Required profile

• 2‑5 years of experience in Salesforce administration, release management or development.
• Hands‑on experience with Gearset or a comparable deployment tool.
• Proficiency in scripting with Shell and Python.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science, IT or a related field.

• Salesforce (Apex, SOQL/SAQL, Sales & Service Cloud, SFDX, Change Sets, Metadata API).
• Version control (Git, Bitbucket, SVN).
• Build and automation tools (Jenkins, Bamboo, Maven, Apache Ant, AutoRabit).
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Configuration management (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
• Project tracking (Jira).
