DevOps Engineer – Remote (GCCA)

About the role

TransUnion is seeking a remote DevOps Engineer to join its Global Capability Centre Africa (GCCA). You will help design, build and operate secure, scalable cloud infrastructure that supports a wide range of credit, fraud and risk‑management services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain Linux‑based infrastructure on AWS and Google Cloud Platform.
• Support, monitor and optimise live platforms to ensure high availability and performance.
• Plan and execute migration of workloads from AWS to GCP, integrating them into TransUnion’s group‑wide cloud platform.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines and collaborate with development teams to streamline deployments.
• Enhance security posture and ensure compliance with SOC‑2, ISO 27001 and other frameworks.
• Diagnose and resolve infrastructure incidents, providing root‑cause analysis.
• Document systems, processes and best practices to aid onboarding and scalability.
• Promote DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices across the organisation.

Required profile

• Strong Linux systems administration experience, including firewalls and hardening.
• Hands‑on experience with Docker and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools, especially Terraform.
• Solid understanding of networking, troubleshooting and cloud services (AWS, GCP).
• Familiarity with programming languages such as JavaScript, Node.js and PHP.
• Experience with version control (Git) and web servers (Apache, Nginx).
• Database management experience (MySQL, MongoDB) and knowledge of high‑availability solutions.
