Country Manager / Sales Director – Johannesburg

About the role

Our client, a leading European compressor manufacturer, is seeking a high‑calibre Country Manager / Sales Director to head its South African operations. Based in Johannesburg, you will own the full P&L and drive commercial growth across the region while leveraging the resources of a global organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all local functions – Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain and Logistics – ensuring seamless integration.
• Develop and execute a commercial roadmap to capture emerging market opportunities and diversify revenue streams.
• Mentor and inspire a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.
• Build and maintain strategic partnerships with key accounts, industry bodies and allies.
• Monitor competitive dynamics to keep the brand the preferred choice in the market.

Required profile

• 7+ years of senior management experience with a proven record of revenue growth and market expansion.
• Strong financial acumen and deep understanding of the South African industrial landscape.
• Executive presence with the ability to deliver compelling presentations to C‑suite and board audiences.

Required skills

• Knowledge of compressor systems.
• Experience with mechanical applications in industrial technology.
