Corporate Accountant – Johannesburg

About the role

We are seeking a Corporate Accountant to manage day‑to‑day accounting operations for our Johannesburg office. The role will oversee accounts receivable, bank functions and support a Junior Accountant and Cashbook & Admin Clerk.

Key responsibilities

• Produce monthly accounts up to trial balance and prepare standard and non‑standard journal entries.
• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, balance sheet and fixed‑asset register.
• Process lease transactions, inventory documentation and inter‑company eliminations.
• Manage invoicing, debtor queries, credit control and weekly ageing analysis.
• Prepare VAT and customs reconciliations and support month‑end and year‑end reporting.
• Perform cash‑flow forecasting, overhead variance analysis and assist with budgeting and forecasts.

Required profile

• BComm (Accounting) with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar accounting role.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills; deadline‑driven with high attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks under tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in GAAP accounting standards.
• Working knowledge of BuildSmart.
• Understanding of Finnivo.
