About the role

The Departmental Fire and Rescue Service (SDIS) of Loir-et-Cher is looking for a Chief of the Northern Territorial Group. The group includes 102 professional firefighters deployed across three mixed fire stations (Blois‑North, Vendôme, Blois‑South) and 664 volunteer firefighters operating in 35 fire‑and‑rescue centres (CIS). Reporting to the departmental director, the chief will lead operational activities, manage resources, and coordinate training and logistical support for both professional and volunteer personnel.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Northern Territorial Group, ensuring readiness of professional and volunteer firefighters.
• Manage personnel, including one professional officer, chief CSP, deputy chief, administrative assistant, and support non‑commissioned officers.
• Coordinate training programs and logistical support for 35 CIS units.
• Implement the departmental risk‑coverage plan (SDACR 2023‑2028) by optimizing territorial deployment and possible regrouping of centres.
• Collaborate with the departmental director (DDSIS) and deputy director (DDAS) on strategic decisions and resource allocation.
• Handle forecasting, operational planning, and transversal missions related to emergency response.

Required profile

• Eligible for the rank of Lieutenant‑Colonel, Commandant, or Captain within the fire service.
• Open to internal mobility or external candidates.
• Full‑time, permanent position with management responsibilities.
• Ability to work within the statutory recruitment framework.
