Business Development Manager

About the role

The Business Development Manager will lead dealership development, evaluation, onboarding and exit activities for BAIC South Africa. This role ensures network quality, drives sustainable growth and enhances dealer sales capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement dealership development strategies and expansion plans.
• Lead dealer development, evaluation, onboarding, and exiting activities.
• Establish and continuously improve dealership qualification, operational performance standards and evaluation mechanisms.
• Conduct regular dealership performance evaluations and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Analyze operational performance, identify gaps and drive corrective actions.
• Develop and manage dealer sales training strategies, standards and annual training plans.
• Oversee shopfitting projects for existing BAIC dealerships and new BAIC and ARCFOX showrooms.
• Assist in other departmental operations as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the automotive industry.
• At least 3 years’ experience in automotive sales, dealer network development or channel management.
• Strong knowledge of the South African automotive industry and dealer network operations.
