Branch Consultant / Financial Advisor – East Rand Mall

About the role

Sanlam Developing Markets (SDM) is a leading financial services provider in South Africa. The Branch Consultant/Financial Advisor will promote Sanlam Retail Mass products, provide sound financial advice and deliver high‑level client service at the East Rand Mall branch.

Key responsibilities

• Provide sound financial advice and high‑quality client service in a branch context.
• Create opportunities for client optimisation and cross‑selling of value‑added products.
• Gain and maintain in‑depth knowledge of SRM product ranges and match them to customers’ financial goals.
• Validate client details, conduct due‑diligence, submit new business and manage regulatory compliance.
• Prioritise daily appointments while handling walk‑in and non‑appointment clients.
• Service client profiles, send payment reminders, follow‑up queries and manage NTUs.
• Ensure persistency of client payments and arrange alternative payment solutions.
• Guide clients through policy cancellations, resolve queries and escalate when necessary.
• Log all activities, maintain records of advice and provide data for reporting.
• Report daily activities, collate weekly/monthly data and fulfil ad‑hoc requests from the Retail Branch Manager.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year experience in sales or marketing; insurance branch experience is an advantage.
• Matric (Grade 12) qualification; RE5 advantageous.
• FAIS compliance as per DOFA requirements.
• Willingness to complete Class of Business training within 12 months of employment.
